Auburn, Ala. — Chicken Salad Chick, a Southern-inspired, fast-casual chicken salad restaurant concept, will open its first Gainesville, Ga., location, marking its 70th location overall. The new restaurant will open on June 13, 2017.

Located at 1122 Dawsonville Highway, this location is owned and operated by new franchisee team Bob and Penny Wiggins. The Wigginses bring 20 years of restaurant industry experience to the Chicken Salad Chick family. In addition to their prior experience, Bob Wiggins was also involved in the commercial real estate industry. Their first taste of Chicken Salad Chick came after Penny Wiggins and founder Stacy Brown met on a trip to Florida 7 years ago. After learning more about the brand’s inspiring story, the Wigginses were sold on the unique concept and made the business decision to return to the restaurant industry.

“Prior to our introduction to the Chicken Salad Chick concept, we had no plans on returning to the restaurant industry following two decades as restaurant owners and operators,” says Bob Wiggins. “After witnessing the brand’s tremendous growth rate and ongoing success, we realized there was a great opportunity with the emerging company and were excited to jump back into the industry.”

The Chicken Salad Chick concept, born in Auburn, Ala., was established in 2008 in the kitchen of founder Stacy Brown. Today, the brand has 70 locations across the Southeast, and has currently sold 146 franchises to be developed across the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana and Texas.
